Waypost Credit Union
Ninety days of remediation moved Waypost's Brand Trust Score from 2.79 to 3.21 and its Congruence Score from 3.00 to 3.57. The largest single gain came exactly where the diagnostic pointed: Seen rose a full point after the naming cleanup and the FAQ content began surfacing in search and AI answers. The strengths the Blueprint said to protect, embeddedness and service quality, held their ground while the gaps closed.
Trust moved 0.42 points in one cycle, driven by Seen (+1.0), Perceived (+0.5), Obvious (+0.5), Talked About (+0.5), and Differentiated (+0.5), with Trusted and Embedded deliberately held steady as reinforcement targets. Congruence moved faster than Trust (+0.57), which is the expected shape when the work is about closing the gap between a sound identity and a thin public record: the world's read caught up toward what the brand already was.
The strongest mover. All public listings now carry one name, and two of three AI assistants tested describe Waypost accurately as a credit union. Search presence extends beyond branch hours for the first time.
- Directory and listing cleanup to a single name and description
- Published the plain-language FAQ answering real member questions
Review volume roughly doubled from a small base, and the newest reviews name specific outcomes. Public responses to every review shifted the read from pleasant to attentive.
- Staff review invitations at service moments
- Public responses to all reviews
The rewritten homepage leads with member outcomes and the eligibility answer is now one click from everywhere. Jargon remains on secondary pages; the translation pass continues.
- Homepage and top product-page rewrite in plain language
Held steady by design as a reinforcement target. The fee schedule and complaint handling stayed exemplary; the first two documented member stories added visible evidence.
- Published first two documented member stories
Community-thread recommendations now use the right name and increasingly link the FAQ or community page, so word of mouth is beginning to compound in the public record.
- Consistent naming gave referrers a single target to point at
Unchanged in substance, as intended, and far more visible: the community page documents the ninth program year, and the local-press story ran with two partner schools quoted.
- Published the community page
- Local-press story on the literacy program
The new positioning page replaced two of the three interchangeable phrases with provable claims. Language is now distinct at the top of the funnel; branch materials and email still carry legacy phrasing.
- Published distinct positioning built on the literacy program and fee promise
The say-versus-heard gap the diagnostic flagged widest, Seen, closed the most: the brand the Cedar Valley experiences in person and the brand the internet describes are converging on the same institution under one name.
Embeddedness and delivered quality remain the moat and held through the cycle. The new risk is success-borne: as visibility grows, service volume grows with it, and the plain-language fee promise and complaint responsiveness must scale unchanged, because they are now written into the public positioning.
- Finish the jargon translation pass on secondary pages.
- Roll the distinct positioning into branch materials and email so every channel matches the website.
- Correct the one AI assistant still misdescribing Waypost by expanding citable third-party coverage.
